Medical Assistant

Ultimate Staffing is hiring on behalf of a client for a dependable and patient-focused Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative operations in a healthcare setting. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations by recording vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.
• Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments as needed.
• Perform basic clinical tasks such as injections, EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen collection (as applicable).
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR).
• Schedule appointments, manage referrals, and coordinate follow-up care.
• Answer phones, greet patients, and provide excellent customer service.
• Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and compliant with safety and infection control standards.
• Handle billing-related tasks such as insurance verification, prior authorizations, and coding support (where applicable).
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program and/or Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting is required or strongly preferred- 1 1/2-2 years experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and basic office practices.
• Proficiency with Epic, EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain a professional demeanor.

Work Environment

• Clinical/medical office setting.
• Requires standing, walking, and assisting patients throughout the day.
• May involve lifting or positioning patients and frequent use of medical equipment.
